Yvette Lachance Maillet, age 88, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Laurier Maillet, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2018 at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Yvette was born in Lewiston, Maine on May 14, 1930 to the late Joseph and Clementine (Laroche) Lachance and has been a longtime area resident. Yvette was a very positive and friendly person who greatly enjoyed making friends, gardening, and writing to her extended family in Canada. She was an active parishioner and volunteer at St. James Church and member of the Baldwin Center C.A.R.E.S Program. Yvette will be missed by her devoted children Michael Maillet and his wife Kathy of Shelton, Arlene Townson and her husband David of Monroe, and Nancy Hwang and her husband Nelson of Guilford. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Lindsey, Benjamin, Sarah, Olivia, and Matthew; brother Ralph Lachance; sister-in-law Therese Maillet; brother-in-law Lionel Maillet; beloved cousin Arlette Magee; many nieces and nephews; and her good friends and neighbors, who were also her loving family, Maryann and Raphael Garcia and their children, Christopher and Kevin. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Yvette was pre-deceased by her son, Daniel Maillet and brother, Bob Lachance. Friends may call on Monday, July 23 from 9:00-10:30 a.m at the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Adzima Funeral Home and 11:00 a.m. at St. James Church in Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Stratford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Yvette to The Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 or the Baldwin Center C.A.R.E.S program in Stratford.
