Wilma Tarasovic Menosky, age 100, of Bridgeport, the beloved widow of William P. Menosky passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 in Lord Chamberlain Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Wilma was born on October 19, 1916 in Bridgeport to the late George and Lucia (Filip) Tarasovic and had been a city resident for over 90 years. She was a graduate of Waltersville grammar school and Harding High in 1934. Wilma worked for General Electric, American Chain, Manning, Maxwell & Moore, Remington Arms, Columbia Records and Electronic Components. She was also a member of the Teamsters, Local 191 Retiree Chapter. Survivors include her devoted children, William G. Menosky and his wife Linda Simmons of Hamden and Lucille DeFeo and her husband James of Bridgeport, 4 beloved grandchildren, Katie and Kurt Menosky, Marc DeFeo and his wife Michelle and Jonathan DeFeo, cherished great-grandchildren, William and Julia DeFeo, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Wilma was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Chmura and Margaret Jarusinsky. Wilma, known as "Aunt Will" to almost everyone, liked to bake, became an avid reader later in life and was very fond of Casey, the dog she loved to share her toast with. In 2009 Wilma began living with her children, sharing her time between Hamden and Bridgeport until 2012 when she moved to Lord Chamberlain in Stratford. Wilma had many great friends at Lord Chamberlain where she received the finest care and comfort from the nurses, aides and staff. She also took great spiritual comfort and solace in the church services there and her prayer book was a constant companion. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 18, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. James Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford.
