Wilma (Billie) McDougall (nee Irving) age 91 of Orange, CT
Billie McDougall passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 13, 1933, to the late William Irving and Phoebe West Irving. She was a graduate of Bassick High School. She was married to the love of her life, the late James R. McDougall Sr. for 53 years. Together they raised four children in a loving home.
Billie had a creative and artistic soul and a deep appreciation of music, which she passed down to her children. She enjoyed traveling with her husband all over the world and going on retreats with her daughters. Billie had a quick wit and a great sense of humor up until her last days.
Billie's many personal interests included gardening, sewing, and upholstery. She raised beautiful flowers, and her park-like homes were admired by many. She was a creative craftsman and gifted painter. She was an avid reader. She created many special times for her entire family, especially for grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Billie is survived by her children Joyce (Bob) Purcell of California, James Jr. of Seymour, Kathleen (Bill) Perkins of North Carolina, Sharon (Dan) Woznicki of Orange, Ct and her very dear niece, Carol (Joseph) Piccirillo of South Carolina. Grandchildren David (Brittney) Purcell of California, Brian McDougall, Kelly Maher, Jeffrey Marsh, Jonathan Marsh, Jared (Carley) Marsh, Christopher (Tara) McDougall, Alexander Woznicki, Jacob (Beatrice) Woznicki, sister-in-law Kate McDougall. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Aside from her husband, Billie was predeceased by her sisters Phoebe (Art) Patenaude, Carrie (Frank) Black, Pauline (John) Fenton Rosza, Judy (Ray) Knapp, grandson Dustin Hall and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, CT from 9 am to 10:30 am. Prayer service is from 10:30 to 11:00 am. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull at 11:30 am.
