Wilma V. Masek age 94 of Bridgeport passed away on Tuesday December 16, 2008 in St. Joseph's Manor, Trumbull. Wilma, a retired payroll clerk for the City of Bridgeport was born in Bridgeport to the late John and Sophia (Zubriscky) Masek and has been a life long area resident. She was a lector at Holy Name of Jesus Church and a long time member of the Slovak Alliance and was former member and Past President and Past National President of the Catholic War Veteran's Auxiliary. Survivors include her devoted brother Albert Masek and his wife Alma of Bridgeport, brother-in-law Joseph Merrigan of Bridgeport and sister-in-law Patricia Masek of England, nieces and nephews Albert Masek and his wife Karen, Raymond Masek and his wife Lori, Joseph Pronechen and his wife Mary, Stephen Pronechen and his wife Natalie, Lisa Carter and her husband Glynn and Michelle Reynolds and her husband Paul, and several grand nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was pre-deceased by 2 sisters Pauline Pronechen and Helen Merrigan and a brother William Masek. Funeral services will take place on Friday December 19, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. At the family's request prior calling hours have been omitted.
