William E. Weissauer, age 76 of Stratford the widower of Margaret Donnelly Weissauer passed away suddenly on Monday January 5, 2009 in his home. Mr. Weissauer, a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Navy was born in Larchmont, New York to the late Edward A. and Helen (Eggers) Weissauer and has been a long time area resident. He was a graduate of F.E. Bellows High School, and received his BA from Hobart College both in New York. He was a retired General Manager for Bridgeport Mutual Management. Bill was an avid boater and golfer and loved Short Beach Golf Course and was a founding member and long time coach of Sterling House Lacrosse. He was a Video Camera Man for Stratford High School Football for 27 years and recently received the SHS Hall of Fame Life Time Service Award. Survivors include his beloved children and grandchildren Elizabeth De Palma and her husband Al and children Melissa and Allen of Wallingford, Kathleen Breiner and her husband John and sons Max and Sam of Stratford, William Weissauer and his wife Robin and children Nicholas, Jennifer and Mary Grace of Milford, Edward Weissauer and his wife Margaret and daughters Hannah and Lucy of Milford and Margaret Estrella and her husband David and children Gwyn and Nate of Stratford, his devoted long time companion Rosanne Neri of Stratford and several brother's and sister's in law and nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 9, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church Stratford. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Monroe. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
