William A. McQuilton age 65 of Stratford passed away on Monday March 16, 2009 in Yale New Haven Medical Center. Mr. McQuilton, the beloved husband of Mary Ann Huydic McQuilton, was born in Bridgeport to the late Alexander and Eva Beauchene McQuilton and has been a life long area resident. He graduated from the University of New Haven where he received an Associates Degree, and retired after forty years of service from the United Illuminating Company where he was a Personnel Training Manager. He was a former chief negotiator for the Utility Workers Union of America, and was a member of the American Society of Training and Development, New England Regional Utility Group, and was a local expert in D.O.T. regulations for CDL licenses, he was also a former member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Eastern Fairfield County. In 1991 Bill was the recipient of a heart transplant. His family will be forever grateful to his donor's family and the CTICU staff at Yale NHMC. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include his devoted daughters Koreen McQuilton of Massachusetts, Kathleen Bartholic and her husband Mark of Pennsylvania, and Marianne Carrano and her husband Joseph of Stratford, 6 cherished grandchildren Ryann, Halle, Michael, Lily, Sydnie and Nathan, 2 brothers Kenneth McQuilton and his wife Bunnie of Stratford and Richard McQuilton and his wife Fran of Seymour, a sister Sandra Erickson and her husband Rod of Washington and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday March 21st at 9:00 a.m. in St. James Church Main St Stratford. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Trumbull.
