William E. Lindberg, age 91, of Stratford, beloved husband of Charlotte Rosiak Lindberg, passed away on November 12, 2017 in his home. Bill, a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II was born in Stratford on December 4, 1925 to the late Albert and Ethel (Keyes) Lindberg and has been a life long area resident. He was a retired Head Custodian at Johnson Junior High School in Stratford. Bill was an avid sports fan, and played softball for the Ye Olde Tavern and the Raybestos Brakeliners, he also coached for many years with Stratford PAL Baseball and Stratford Pop Warner. Bill was active for many years in Stratford politics, serving on the Zoning Board for twenty years. Above all else Bill loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Survivors in addition to his wife, include his devoted sons, Wayne Lindberg of Stratford, David Lindberg and his wife Jana of Florida, Joseph Lindberg of Stratford, and Michael Lindberg of Ansonia, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a brother John Lindberg of Stratford, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was pre-deceased by his son, William Jr, grandson, Joseph, brothers, Charles and Roy, and sister, Alice Plude. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 17 th from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to the Lindberg family.
