William C. Gallagher Sr., age 81, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Shirley A. Gray Gallagher, passed away at his daughter's home on Friday, January 8, 2021.

Born on April 11, 1939 in Hazelton, PA to the late Eugene and Marion Holland Gallagher, he had been a long time Stratford resident. Shoes was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and was retired from Carpenter Steel where he worked in the Melt Shop. After retirement, he worked for Bridgeport Hospital for 15 years in the stockroom.

Survivors include his children, William C. Gallagher Jr and wife Karen of Stratford, Michael Gallagher and wife Susan of Georgia, Patrick Gallagher of Stratford, Terence Gallagher and wife Susan of Florida and Colleen Gallagher of Stratford, 9 grandchildren:  Will, Mandy, Caitlyn, Connor, Keagan, Terence Jr. and Casey, Joey and Cori Perruzzi, a great-granddaughter, Amelia, brothers, Eugene Gallagher and his wife Marilyn of Stratford, and Timothy Gallagher of Bridgeport,  a sister, Marion Kindle and her husband Edward of Southbury, sister-in-law, Louise Gallagher of Bridgeport, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was pre-deceased by a brother James Gallagher.

A graveside service with Full Military Honors will take place on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 12 noon meeting directly at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.   Everyone in attendance must follow the COVID 19 guidelines, wear a mask and practice social distancing.
