William T. Cosgrove, age 83, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Judith Shapiro Cosgrove, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in his home. William, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War was born in the Bronx, NY to the late Michael and Helen (Siksay) Cosgrove, and has been a long time area resident. He was a retired Security Guard for AVCO and was a member of American Legion Post #16-Shelton, and the Valley Horseshoe League. William was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, and enjoyed playing horseshoes and bowling. Survivors include his devoted children, John Cosgrove and his wife Tracy and Jodi Hennessy and her husband Daniel all of Geneva, NY, and Elizabeth Bowie of Trumbull, 2 step-daughters, Jennifer Wise of OH, and Aimee Wise of FL, 7 grandchildren, Jenny, Logan, Joshua, Aaron, Eve, Brigitte, and Hilary, a step-grandson, Ethan, and 2 great-grandchildren, Meghan and Riley, 2 sisters, Elenor Mete of Bridgeport, and Florence Cataudella of Monroe, his dear friend and neighbor, Dorothy Milo, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, and wife, he was pre-deceased by a brother, Michael, and 2 sisters, Evelyn Hudak and Honey Arsenault. Friends may greet his family on Friday, March 11th from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. All other services and interment will be private.
