Vladyslovas (George) Dirsa age 90 of Shelton Died on Thursday, October 24, 2008 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Worchester, Massachusetts to the late Walter J and Bessie Savage he has resided in Shelton after retiring from the U.S. Navy where he had 20 years of service and served during WWII. He was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft for 10 years and then became the proprietor of Hards Corner Shell Gas Station in Stratford. Survivors include his beloved wife Eleanor Casper Dirsa; 3 devoted daughters Karen Bromley and her husband Duncan of Shelton, Sharon Steeves and her husband David of Trumbull and Dorothy Wareche of Seymour; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother Anthony Dirsa of Orange; 7 sisters Adela Schweitzer, Rita Arquitte, Ann Spictzler and Virginia Fengler all of Shelton, Betty Arquitte of Bridgeport, Irene McDonald of AZ and Lillian Fox of Bristol; Many nieces and nephews. A sister Aldonna VanCampen predeceased him. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 9:45 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:30 am in St. Joseph's Church in Shelton with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friend may call from 8:30 –9:30 am on Wednesday.
