Urbane Clyde Benoit Jr., age 94 of Shelton, died Friday, January 5, 2007 in the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield. Born in Lowell, MA to the late Urbane Clyde Benoit Sr. and Linnie Carlton Benoit he was raised in the Boston area and has resided in Sunapee, New Hampshire most of his life. He was a retired machinist for Sturm Ruger in Newport, New Hampshire and formerly worked as a machinist for Sikorsky Aircraft. He was a member of the St. Peter's Masonic Lodge #31 A.F. & A.M. in Bradford, New Hampshire, the National Experimental Aircraft Association in Laconia, New Hampshire and the Christian Science Society in New London, New Hampshire. Survivors include a daughter Maryanne Meehan of Milford; 2 granddaughters Alese Tait and her husband Robert of Stratford and Danielle Wilson of West Haven; 4 great-grandchildren Graham, James, William and Bay Tait and several nieces and nephews. Urbane was pre deceased by 2 sisters Corene Warren and Arlene Stewart. Funeral services were private; a celebration of Mr. Benoit's life will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2007 in the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home 42 Main Street Newport, New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers those desiring to make donation may do so to the Masonic Order St. Peter's Lodge # 31 Main Street Bradford, New Hampshire.
