Trudy Catherine (Borner) Gardecki, age 80 of Stratford, died peacefully on Monday June 5, 2023, at Bridgeport Hospital after a sudden illness, with her family by her side.

She was the beloved wife of Daniel Gardecki, Sr. for over 60 years. Trudy was born on March 25, 1943, in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late Harry Borner and Gertrude (Burns) Borner. She was a Stratford resident for most of her adult life after a short residency in Florida. Trudy graduated from Stratford High School Class of 1961 and was named Holly Queen in her senior year. She was formerly employed by Hubbell Corporation as an administrative assistant and retired in 2008. Trudy enjoyed gardening and decorating her home, as well as boating with her husband, family, and friends. She liked the simple life spending time at home with her beloved husband Dan and her dog and cats that she spoiled with her home cooking. She was a devoted mother who cherished her children and was always there to lend a helping hand. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Trudy is survived by her son Daniel Gardecki, Jr. and partner Carol of Stratford, her devoted daughter Joni Yale and her partner Keith of Stratford and her loving sister Joan Duda and her husband Jim of Monroe, several nieces and nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday, June 13 from 4-7 p.m. at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. At the request of the family, burial will be held privately.
