Obituary

Timothy John Scheibel Sr. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 18th at the age of 59. He was born to the late Edwin and Muriel Scheibel on August 8th, 1951, in Bridgeport, Ct. He was the third of four children. Tim graduated from Bunnell High School in 1969 and went on to earn a BA and Masters in Recreation Administration from Clemson University in 1973 and 1975 respectively. He began his own business, Scheibel & Associates, in 1976. In 1977, he began working for the City of Norwalk, Ct in the Parks and Recreation department. He was Acting Director for many years and also served on the Norwalk city pension board. In 1988, he became a Certified Financial Planner and received a Masters of Science degree, from the College of Financial Planning in 1992. He built Scheibel & Associates into a thriving tax and retirement planning business and continued working to his final days. He married Judith Lynn Harper in 1972, they lived in Clemson, SC and eventually relocated to Connecticut in 1976. In 2004, after retiring from the City of Norwalk, they moved to The Villages, FL. They had three children together all of whom graduated from his beloved Clemson University. He is survived by his wife Judy, his three sons: Timothy Jr. and his wife Tonya of Greenville, SC; Jason and his wife Elizabeth of New York, NY; and Matthew and his wife Amy of Haymarket, VA; as well as four grandchildren: Carson, Tim III, Emma, and Reagan; Siblings: Edwin Scheibel of Newtown, CT, Barbara O'Brien of Shelton, CT, and Ron Scheibel of Shelton, CT. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be given to the "American Diabetes Association". A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 3rd from 4-7pm in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, CT.

Tim was many things to many people; friend, confidant, advisor, golf partner, but above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather
