Thomas Charles McDonald, 61, of Huntington, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 25th, with his beloved daughter, Vanessa, and his former wife,Jeanmarie Conlon, by his side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Milford on March 16, 1951, he was the son of the late James Charles McDonald Jr. and the former Edna Justine Hedin, who survives her son. Tom, a professional photographer, was a regular contributor to The New York Times and various other publications and did considerable work for Trinity Episcopal Church in New York City. For many years he was a staff photographer for Perkin Elmer in Norwalk. Photography was his passion, and he will always be remembered with a camera by his side. He was an artist who also enjoyed music and writing poetry. He will be remembered as a loving father to his daughter, Vanessa, and his son, Jason, who passed away from a brain tumor in 1989. He is also survived by three brothers, James E. McDonald and David M. McDonald, both of Miami, Fla., and William P. McDonald of New York City; and 19 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert. J. McDonald and a niece, Erica Joy Hanick. He leaves behind a legacy of photographic work for all to enjoy and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 29th at 9 a.m. in St. James Church 2070 Main Street Stratford. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Trumbull.
