Obituary

Thomas J. Loughman Sr., age 87, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Carol A. Savino Loughman, passed away on April 9, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family. Tom also known as "Tucker", was born in Glen Cove, LI, New York, to the late Patrick and Ethel (DeRancy) Loughman and was a longtime resident of Bridgeport. He graduated from Fairfield Prep and was a retiree from Carpenter Steel Technology.

Aside from spending time with his family, one of his life's greatest joys was attending all of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren's sporting events and activities.  He was an avid sportsman and sports fan. One of his favorite hobbies was fishing and he always looked forward to opening day. He loved college basketball, especially the UConn Women's team. He was a longtime Brooklyn Dodgers fan until they moved then he became a New York Yankees fan along with his sons and grandsons. In his early years, he dedicated his time to the Park City Little League by coaching and was an active member on their board of directors.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 66 years, include his devoted children, Karen Wargo and her husband Dave of Milford, Patricia Loughman of Stratford, Lisa Frosceno and her husband Gregg of Stratford, William Loughman of Bridgeport, daughter-in-law Donna Loughman of Trumbull, 10 cherished grandchildren, Ryan (Sarah) Zayas, Jenna (John) Haydu, Shawn (Cassie) Zayas, Candice (Patrick) Bartley, Thomas J. Loughman III, Marissa (Christopher) Saksa, Meghan Loughman, Samantha Wargo, Kerrigan Loughman, and Gianna Loughman, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was pre-deceased by his son, Thomas J. Loughman Jr., brother, Patrick, and sisters, Elizabeth and Kathleen.

Tom was known by all as the most generous and caring person. He enjoyed lending a hand to everyone and expected nothing in return. He was loved by all, and his memory will be cherished forever.

Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
