Obituary

Thomas W. Latham Jr. born on April 7, 1938 and passed away on October 8, 2022.

Tom, known as (Doodles) to his boyhood friends and just "Doo" to his family and close friends was the son of the late Thomas W. Latham and Fay DeLuca Latham Dragonette. Born and raised on the east side and east end of Bridgeport, he attended St. Mary's and Warren Harding High schools. Tom loved sports but for various reasons did not play high school ball. He captained his high school bowling team and played with many sandlot teams in organized leagues in Bridgeport. His true love of a sport became golf. He became a single digit handicap and won many championships and trophies. He golfed until the age of 83, then age and illness forced him to retire. Tom also became a high school sports official for 20 years after his playing days, working league playoffs and state tourney games.

Tom worked all his life in the food industry, starting with Coca Cola, then S.B. Thomas English muffins in sales, then became owner operator of an Arnold Bakery Distributorship until his retirement in 1999.

Tom married his childhood sweetheart Joan Yakowicz in 1960 and together had 3 children and 6 grandchildren He was predeceased by his wife after 40 years and his oldest daughter Cynthia. He is survived by his son, Kevin (Dianne), daughter, Jennifer McAndrew (Kevin), grandchildren, Thomas Zultowski (Jennifer), Daniel Zultowski, William McAndrew, Megan McAndrew, Kevin Latham II, Thomas C Latham, his son-in-law, Alex Dokla and his most loved companion of 22 years Lynn Amante and many nieces and nephews.

A reception and celebration of Tom's life will take place on Friday, October 14 th beginning at 4 p.m. at The Stone Barn at Whitney Farms 175 Shelton Road Monroe, CT.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tom's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to The Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
