Thomas J. Blake, age 84 of Milford passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 in Milford Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Bridgeport to the late Thomas and Margaret Blake, he was a life long resident of Stratford and Milford. After graduating from the University of CT School of Pharmacy, Tom opened Blake's Drug Store in Paradise Green and became a prominent man within the community. He was also the owner of Blake Travel and founder and president of T&J Realty. Tom loved kids sports and sponsored many youth organizations in Stratford and was one of the founding sponsors (Blake Drug) of Stratford Pony Baseball in the 1960's and 70's. Survivors include his devoted children: Jeffrey Blake and his wife Cheryl of Milford, Terence Blake and his wife Lisa of Stratford and Melissa Blake of Milford; his cherished grandchildren, Kelley, Patrick, Ryan and Shawn; his siblings: Robert O. Blake, Carol Lakin and Fred Bemis all of Milford and several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean (Buyniski) Blake and a sister Margaret Ruane. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 7, 2009 at 8:30 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am in St. Ann's RC Church 501 Naugatuck Ave Milford. Interment will take place in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 pm.
