Thaddeus Iracki Sr. (Ted), age 98, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at his son and daughter-in-law's house surrounded by his family Thursday, May 14, 2015. Born in Nanticoke, PA on April 13, 1917 to the late Joseph and Victoria Iracki and was a resident of Stratford for more than 70 years. Ted proudly served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He was in the air offensive in Normandy, Rhineland and North France. He received a Distinguished Unit Badge and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars. Ted loved to work in his garden and canning what it produced. He also loved helping his son with projects. He is survived by his loving son Thaddeus (Ted) Iracki Jr. and his wife Margaret (Peggy) Kelleher Iracki of Stratford, 2 granddaughters, Patricia Bissett and her husband Michael of York, PA and Karen Kellogg and her husband Kevin of Huntington, 4 great-grandsons, Shawn Bissett, Trevor, Lucas and Brady Kellogg, a brother Joseph Iracki of Nanticoke, PA, several nieces and nephews. Ted was predeceased by his wife of more than 50 years, Jean Mickanowicz Iracki and 2 brothers Stanley and Mitchell Iracki. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses of Connecticut Hospice, New England Health Care and Lord Chamberlain. Also all who took care of him through his life's journey. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 10:15AM in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford and 11:00AM in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 310 Pulaski St, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Full Military Honors will be St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7PM.
