Susan Gazdik Masikiewicz, age 95, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late William Masikiewicz, passed away on May 10, 2016 with her family by her side, in Lord Chamberlain Health Center, Stratford. Sue was born August 1, 1920 in Robertsdale, PA to the late Vasil and Anna Gazdik, and lived in Bridgeport for much of her life, later moving to Milford and Stratford. She worked at Avco-Lycoming for thirty-two years (1952-1984) and took great pride in her work as a quality control inspector. Sue loved cooking, sewing, gardening, and taking walks and cruising Long Island Sound on their boat. She also enjoyed taking rides along the shoreline in Milford. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile. Survivors include her son, William Masikiewicz and his wife Sandra, and daughter, Susan Sterling and her husband Gregory all of Stratford. She loved spending time with her cherished grandchildren, William Masik, Melissa Ezarik, David Sterling and Dr. Mark Sterling, as well as her precious great-grandchildren, Ellery and Walker Sterling and Scott Ezarik. In addition to her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by 3 brothers, and 6 sisters. Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 16th at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 11 a.m. in the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 9-10:30 a.m.
