Stephen Kopac, age 95, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Anna Stankosky Kopac, passed away on May 24, 2017 in Cambridge Manor, Fairfield. Stephen was born on June 20, 1921 in Bridgeport to the late Akim and Anna (Hricenak) Kopac and has been a long time area resident. He was retired from Jenkins Valve and the University of Bridgeport Maintenance Department. Stephen was an avid gardener and loved to dance, especially Polka's. He also enjoyed cooking Kielbasa and Stuffed Cabbage, and telling "war stories" to his grandchildren. Stephen was a member of the Baldwin Center, St. John's Church Holy Name Society, and the Guillain Barre Syndrome Support Group.   Survivors include his devoted sons, Stephen J. Kopac, and Robert A. Kopac and his wife Joyce all of Shelton, 6 grandchildren, Kimberly Barbosa and her husband Joel, Christopher, Joshua, Andrew, Sarah and Lisa Kopac, a great-grandson, Emanuel Barbosa, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Stephen was pre-deceased by his brother, George and sisters, Anna and Helen Kopac, Vickie Polaski and Susan Tyliszczak. The Kopac family would like to thank the staff of Cambridge Manor for their kind and loving care. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 27 ^th at   9 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church Trumbull for a Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
