Stephanie Sofia Kaminsky Mehai, age 95 of Stratford, the widow of Michael Mehai Jr. passed away in her home on Thursday, May 12, 2011. Born in Cervenica, Czechoslovakia to the late Stefan and Barbara (Pavlik) Kaminsky. She emigrated to the US at a young age and was a longtime Bridgeport resident before moving to Stratford with her daughter 8 years ago. She was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols, St. John's Senior Club, Our Lady of Grace Seniors and the Stratford Baldwin Center. Survivors include her devoted daughters: Barbara Waite and her husband Ken of Monroe, Mary Yanosy and her husband Jim of Granby, Margaret "Peggy" Mehai of Stratford, and Pauline Mehai of Shelton, her cherished grandchildren and great- grandchildren: Ken Waite III and his wife Debbie and their children Ken IV and Olivia, Michael Waite and his wife Cecilia and their son Devyn, Jim Yanosy and his wife Lauren and their children Mia, Julia and Luke, Jennifer Moffa and her husband Fred and their children Jamie, Freddie and Kelly-Anne, Stephen Yanosy and his wife Amy and their children Jacob and Addison, David Yanosy and his wife Alexis, Catherine Forrest and her husband Greg, Stephanie Di Martino and her husband Enzo, John Horvath, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mehai was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 9:15AM in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:00AM in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church Trumbull with the celebration of a Divine Liturgy. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephanie's memory may be made to Connecticut Hospice at Home 2 Trap Falls Road, Suite 408, Shelton CT 06484 or to St. John's Church 100 St. John's Drive Trumbull, CT 06611.
