Stephanie Madeleine Babij Dziewulski, 87, beloved wife of 54 years of the late Michael J. Dziewulski, passed away on February 23 at Bridgeport Hospital after a 30 plus years struggle with diabetes. She was the seventh of ten children born to Peter and Magdalena Blacha Babij in Scranton, PA. Around 1940 she came to Bridgeport to visit her cousin Pearl Bilevitch Pisani. As Stephanie jokingly used to say "I'm still visiting." During the war years she worked for Casco, Remington, Bryant Electric and Coastal. In the 40s and 50s she worked for Warner Brothers and retired from D.M. Read's after 22 yrs of service. She was a devout communicant of Our Lady of Grace since moving to Stratford and a member of the Bible Study Class where she made many lasting friendships. Above all she enjoyed caring for her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a creative homemaker and an excellent cook, especially in the Polish tradition. Survivors include her son Michael of Stratford; son David and wife Dorothy of Troy, NY; daughter Mary Ann Irizarry and husband Wilson of Bridgeport. Also eight grandchildren: Magdalena, David, Anna Maria, Stephanie, Matthew, Teresa, Marion and Wilson, Jr. and two great-grandchildren Joseph and Anastasia. She is survived by her sister Bernice Walijewski and brother Chester and his wife Dolores Babij all of NJ; by brother Joseph Babij of PA and over a hundred cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews. Funeral services will take place on Thursday February 26th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Pl Stratford and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady OF Grace Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Trumbull. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
