Stella Artusa Moher, age 91, passed away peacefully at Gardner Heights Nursing Home in Shelton on November 15, 2025.
Stella was born in Bridgeport on December 17, 1933, to the late Grace and Fortunato Artusa. Formerly of Stratford and Milford, Stella graduated from Harding High School, class of 1952. She was an extremely hard-working woman. She worked as a waitress for over fifty-five years at area restaurants, spending most of those years at The Algonquin Club in Bridgeport, and Penny's Diner in Fairfield. Stella supported 3 children all by herself, she was truly an inspiration to them. She was very creative and talented, loved sewing, doing crafts and making beautiful dolls. A very artistic lady. Stella enjoyed reconnecting with her Harding High classmates and spending time with the ladies in her Doll Club. Her beauty and personality would always light up a room. The Moher family would like to thank the staff of Gardner Heights Health Center for the terrific care they provided for their mother.
Survivors include her devoted children, Gary Moher of Stratford, Marlane Argianas of Shelton, and Douglas Moher of Ansonia, 3 cherished grandchildren, Lindsay (Michael) Mazzarella, Garett and Stephanie Argianas, 3 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Vera and Jayce and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Stella was pre-deceased by her daughter-in-law, Gloria, grandson, Michael, brother, Dominick Artusa, and sister, Angelina Bonitatabus.
Friends and family may visit on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Prayers at 6:45 p.m. All other services will be private.
