Stanley McFadden, age 88, of Stratford the beloved widower of Dorothy Kissel McFadden passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in his home. Born in Gardner, Maine on March 4, 1929 to the late Robert and Ruth (Mason) McFadden, Stanley has been a longtime area resident. He was a decorated Veteran of the US Army serving over seas during the Korean War from 1952-1953 as a tank operator, and received 2 Bronze Service Stars. He was a retired foreman for ACME United with over 30 years of service and was a member of the ACME United ¼ Century Club and the Raymond T. Goldbach VFW Post 9460 in Stratford. Stanley loved woodworking, restoring homes and gardening, especially vegetables. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Ruth McFadden and her fiancé Henry Kaminski of Shelton, a brother-in-law Bill Guillmette of Maine, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Stanley was predeceased by his twin sister, Anne Guillmette and brothers, Vincent, Carl and Earl McFadden. from 4-7pm in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. Prayers will be at 6:30pm with Rev Robert Adkins officiating. Full Military Honors will be at 6:45PM. Interment will be private.
