IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stacy
Vagnini
April 12, 1974 – August 1, 2023
Stacy Vagnini, age 49 of Stratford, Connecticut, beloved daughter of Janet Vagnini and the late Edward Vagnini, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on August 1, 2023. Stacy was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on April 12, 1974. Stacy is survived by her devoted sisters Lisa (Vagnini) Kalafus and Gina Vagnini, loving "brother" Chris Kalafus, her cherished nieces Alissa (Mike), Caitlin (Kayla), Carly (Paul), Cori, Molly, Ellie, grand nieces and nephews, devoted aunts and uncles, and her compassionate Red Maple Family.
Stacy was the ultimate gift in the lives of everyone who knew her. She loved unconditionally and adored her friends and family, especially her "Momma". To know Janet and Stacy is to know the true meaning of loving with no limitations. The two were inseparable and their selfless bond can only be described as "two hearts that beat as one." A close second was Santa, who she lovingly called "Ho-Ho". The excitement in Stacy's eyes on Christmas morning was something spectacular, a magical gift she always believed in! Stacy "fell in love" often and loved all good-looking men. She would bat her eyelashes and win them over instantly. Back in the day, she enjoyed swimming, dancing, and loud rock bands (especially Mullett). She had a passion for good food, her favorites being hamburgers with cheese, pizza, shrimp, "choco" cupcakes, and always asked for "Coke in a can". Stacy loved to play games and giggled endlessly while playing jokes on people. Her laugh was one in a million! Stacy was an avid movie watcher and would watch the same one repeatedly before moving on to the next. In her beautiful imagination, she would let the screen carry her to faraway places. She was a Pink Lady, Desperately Sought Susan, pitched for the Bad News Bears, thought she could fly with The Boy who could, rode motorcycles on Streets Of Fire, had wild Adventures In Babysitting, and never had a Hard Knock Life like Annie. Stacy's birthday was the biggest, grandest, day of the year, and was declared a national holiday by her family. The day after her birthday, the first words she spoke were "My birthday's coming soon!"
Despite Stacy's health challenges, she always managed to laugh, sing, kiss, steal noses, call you names and taught us all how to appreciate life's simple pleasures. She was and always will be an inspiration and role model to all.
It has taken a very special village to give our Stacy the beautiful life she had. We would never be able to do it without all her Red Maple staff and housemates, teachers, aids, caregivers, medical professionals, and guardian angels who have become our family. And a very special thank you to HHC at Home Hospice who guided us in keeping her at such peace. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to a charity of their choice in Stacy's memory.
