Sheila (Francis) Smith passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2006. Born in Bridgeport to the late Leslie P. Francis and Rita E. Fici Francis. Survivors include a daughter Serena E. Smith, brothers Leslie P.Francis Jr., James W. Francis , a special sister Joan E. Francis, an uncle Edward and his wife Antoinette, aunt Sophie, all of Haverhill, Mass. , a cousin Jay and his wife Elaine, both of Derry, N.H. your faithful companion Cocoa, a host of nieces and nephews, and a special thanks to your doctor and his staff…..Having you for a sister was truly wonderful. We just naturally shared thoughts and feelings. Looking back on favorite memories with family and friends, it was always that way. Even as kids we shared many good times. Your legacy will always be that no matter what life brought you, you were always willing to help someone in need. You were very generous, "if you had a dime, someone got a nickel." True friendship is something rare, something precious, something we will all treasure. We hope you know you were loved and much more than a special daughter, sister, niece, mother and friend to all who knew you… and as our treasure to behold, we will all miss you and we will always love you. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2006 at 6:30 P.M. in Golden Hill United Methodist Church, Golden Hill Street, Bridgeport. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory be made to American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, P.O. Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492. The Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
