Sarkis M. Khazarian, age 90, of Stratford, beloved husband of Theresa Eknoian Khazarian, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in his home. Mr. Khazarian, the retired proprietor of Stonybrook Pharmacy in Stratford from 1950-1991 was born in Bridgeport to the late Sanos and Araxie (Mosditchian) Khazarian and has been a life long area resident. He was a graduate of Harding High School, and received a BS in Pharmacy with high honors from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy, and a Masters in Science from the University of Bridgeport. Mr. Khazarian was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a Pharmacist aboard the U.S Army Hospital Ship Ernestine Koranda in the South Pacific. He was a member of St. Stephen Armenian Apostolic Church in New Britain. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include his children, Sarkis H. Khazarian of Hamden and Roxanne Khazarian of Stratford, a niece Susan Shabazian, and a nephew, Joseph Shabazian Jr.,3 great-nieces and several cousins. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his brother, Haig Khazarian. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at St. Stephen Armenian Apostolic Church 167 Tremont Street New Britain, with Rev. Aram Stepanian officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to St. Stephen's Church in memory of Sarkis.
