She was a devoted mother to son James Washburn and his wife Barbara of Jewett City, CT and daughter Sandra Bike, who she affectionately referred to as "Sis" and whom she lived with for the past thirteen years. Sally was affectionately known as "Gram" by her Grandchildren and "Mimi" by her Great Grandchildren. In her younger years she enjoyed playing Poker, going up the "lake" to fish, reading a good murder mystery and watching Murder She Wrote. Sally was also known as a meticulous housekeeper (you could literally eat off her floor). Although Sally was never able to fulfill her dream of being a nurse ironically she became a caregiver to both her parents, husband Stanley and brother in law Hazen when they were ailing.
