Roy Worman of Milford, after a brief illness passed away peacefully in his sleep at the VA Hospital in West Haven the evening of May 11, 2016 at the age of 94. Roy was pre-deceased by his wife of forty years, Helen Marcel of Ansonia. He is survived by his daughter, Marsha Schultz (Ken) of Milford, and son Roy Worman Jr (Linda) of Quechee, Vermont. He his also survived by his five grandchildren Kristen Tassiello (Jeff), Kim Jensen (Gunnar), Stephen Worman (Zelia), Stacey Worman, Samantha Worman, and his five great-grandchildren Luke and Liam Tassiello, Kate and Dylan Jensen, and Ivy Worman. Born in Souderton, Pa., one of eight children of Omar and Stella Worman he is survived by his brother Dr. Robert Worman of Mechanicsberg, Pa and his sister Marie Pipkin of Kaiser, Ore. and many nieces and nephews. In October 1940 he entered the United States Marine Corps, second division. He served six years. He fought in the South Pacific at Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan, and Tinian. He was wounded by a rocket grenade at Saipan, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He loved telling stories that often turned into jokes, casinos, playing cards with friends, bingo, shopping for bargains, and all of his friends at Carriage Green. The VA hospital in West Haven treated him with utmost respect, and provided superior care to him especially during his last few weeks in this world. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. The Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
