Rose Marie Manente Mascia, of Stratford, age 102, widow of Anthony N. Mascia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 11, 2011, in Bishop Wicke HCC, Shelton. Mrs. Mascia, a retired seamstress for Levine Brothers Coat Factory, was born in St. Lawrence, Italy to the late Lorenzo and Louisa (Viccarella) Manente and has been a long time area resident Rose was an original life long member of St. Mark's Church and their Ladies Guild and Seniors, and also the Baldwin Center. Survivors include her devoted children Andrew Mascia and his wife Grace of NJ, Josephine Burns and her husband Edward of Stratford, daughter-in-law Joyce Mascia of MS, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by a son Lawrence Mascia. Funeral services will take place on Friday October 14th at 9:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 8:30 –9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to St. Mark's Church.
