Rose A. Bruno Benigno, age 94, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Leonard E. Benigno entered into eternal rest on Monday April 16, 2012 in Bridgeport Hospital, with her loving and caring son Leonard R. Benigno by her side. Mrs. Benigno was born in Bridgeport on October 14, 1917 to the late Salvatore and Assunta (Mazzielli) Bruno, and lived there until moving to Stratford in 1948. Rose worked for American Chain and Cable, Remington Arms, Singer Co., and Skydels Department Store until she retired in 1982 to care for her ailing husband. Survivors include her beloved son Leonard R. Benigno of Shelton, sister Carmella Grosso of Trumbull, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents she was pre-deceased by her daughter-in-law Linda DeLorenzo Benigno, 2 sisters Mariann Nardella, and Margaret Bonitatibus, 3 brothers Daniel, Matthew, and Pasquale Bruno. Funeral services will take place on Friday April 20th at 8:30 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 9 a.m. in St. James Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make a donation in memory of Rose to a charity of choice.
