Ronald A. Sperling, age 89, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Lisbeth Brown Sperling, passed away on December 2, 2023, at Bridgeport Hospital. Ron was born at home in Stratford on December 4, 1933, to the late Richard and Louva (Cook) Sperling and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War and was a retired mechanical engineer for Raytheon Corporation. Ron was life member of VFW Post 9460 in Stratford and was also a member of American Legion Post #16 Shelton.

A lifelong athlete, Ron was an avid golfer. He also played on many softball teams, bowled for Grace Lutheran Church and was a member of the American Legion Horseshoe League. In addition, he was involved in youth sports, coaching the Holy Name Cardinals football team and PAL little League teams.

Survivors include his devoted children, Cheryl McCuen and Gregory Sperling (Doloris) all of Stratford, 3 cherished grandchildren, Caitlyn McCuen (JP), Molly McCuen (Joseph), and Rebecca White (Matthew), 3 great-grandchildren, Marleigh and Madelyn Maxfield, and Vincenzo White.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7th from 9-11 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Interment with full military honors will follow at Union Cemetery, Stratford.
