Romuald Czaplinski, age 89, of Stratford, beloved husband, of Sabina Wolodkowicz Czaplinski, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 in his home. Mr. Czaplinski, a retired machinist for Nelson Machine of Shelton, was born in Poland to the late Ignacy and Julia (Bakinowska) Czaplinski and has been a long time area resident. He enjoyed gardening, chopping wood and was always active, most of all he loved being surrounded by his family. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 67 years, include his devoted children, Teresa Cylwik of Stratford, and Leszek Czaplinski and his wife Alina of Shelton, 11 cherished grandchildren, Andy (Lisa) Czaplinski, Tom (Jackie) Czaplinski, Kristopher Czaplinski, Ania Czaplinski, Erik (Christina) Cylwik, Daniel Cylwik, Renee (Antonio) DiMatteo, Laura (Robert) Josephson, Krystyna (Chris) Alexander, Matthew (Natalie) Czaplinski, and Katie Czaplinski, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Regina Iwaszkiewicz of Bridgeport, and Danita Kuralowicz of Poland and a brother, Telesfor Czaplinski of Poland and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his son Bogdan (Don) Czaplinski, son-in-law Jozef Cylwik, and 8 siblings. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 30th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
