– Robert J. Tkacs, age 69 of Trumbull, passed away on Tuesday June 12, 2007 in St. Vincent's Medical Center Bridgeport. Mr. Tkacs, a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War, was born in Bridgeport to the late Nicholas and Mary (Hluska) Tkacs and had been a life long area resident. He was a graduate of Harding High School and the University of Bridgeport where he received both his BS and MS Degrees. He was a retired accountant for Metal Specialties and prior to there, had been employed by Bryant Electric, Warner Packaging, and Bridgeport Machines. Most of all he loved his family and taking cruise vacations. Survivors include his beloved wife Doris Newell Tkacs, his devoted sons Kenneth Tkacs and his wife Debi of North Haven and David Tkacs of Stratford, 2 grandsons Alexander and Jason, his sisters Mary Costanzo of Bridgeport and Ruth Torony of Trumbull, his brother Raymond Tkacs and his wife Carol of Florida and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Friday June 15th at 10:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church Nichols for a Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Monroe. Friends may call on Thursday (TODAY) from 4-7 p.m. Panachida at 4:30 p.m.
