Robert A. Skuba Sr., age 71, of Newtown, beloved husband of Diane DeBenedetto Skuba, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2020 in his home. Bob was born in Bridgeport on December 17, 1948 to the late Nicholas and Marguerite (Hornak) Skuba and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was a retired self-employed contractor. Bob was very proud of building and being a part of Robert Anthony's Hair Salon in Newtown with his family. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, include his devoted children, Robert A. Skuba Jr. and Diane L. Skuba all of Newtown, his sister, Marguerite Ruot of Florida, mother-in-law, June DeBenedetto of Newtown, several nieces and nephews, and his cherished therapy dog, Opie who he loved dearly. In addition to his parents, Bob was pre-deceased by his brother, Nick Skuba, sister, MaryBeth Donohue, and father-in-law, Salvatore A. DeBenedetto. Due to the pandemic and restrictions on public gatherings, the family has elected to hold a private service. The Adzima Funeral Home - Stratford has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
