Robert J. Popp, age 82, of Bethel, passed away on February 26, 2023, at Bethel Health Center.

Bob was born in Bridgeport on June 19, 1940, son of the late George and Anne (Kasper) Popp and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Bassick High School, class of 1958, and earned his BS in engineering from Georgia Tech, where he was captain of the Swim Team. Bob was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired self-employed consultant.

Survivors include his devoted children, Jacqueline Roe and her husband Dan of Bethel, and Matthew G. Popp of Danbury, cherished grandchildren, Taylor Guarino and her husband, Graziano, Emma and Danielle Roe, great-grandson, Leonardo, brother, George (Beverly) Popp, sisters, Althea (Paul) Falco, and Mary E. (Pat) Procacci, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, March 1 ^st from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Funeral services on Thursday, March 2 ^nd at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home with Very Rev. Luke Mihaly officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
