Robert B. Mattern, age 88, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Joan Ann Pollock Mattern, passed away on November 22, 2025.

 Bob was born in Bridgeport on August 3, 1937, to the late Mary Frances (Rose) Dickson and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Harding High School Class of 1955 and retired after 36 years in the Plumbing business as a Purchasing Manager. He worked for Lewin & Sons, Danbury Plumbing and Standard Plumbing Supply. Bob was an avid golfer and was a member of the Newtown Country Club for twenty-eight years and was also a long-time member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford. 

Survivors include his devoted children, Robert Mattern of Florida, Michael Mattern and his fiancé Michelina Accettullo of Shelton, and Pamela Dalling and her husband Richard of Stratford, 8 cherished grandchildren, Ashley (Roy) Barnum, RJ (Taylor) Dalling, Brittany (Chad) Gagner, Trevor (Jennifer) Dalling, Emily Dalling, Lauren Mattern, Michael (Lisa) Mattern, and Michaela Mattern, great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Sophia Barnum, Riggs Dalling, Wyatt Gagner, Hailey and Colton Dalling, Zoey and Joey Mattern and Chloe Brown. In addition to his wife and mother, Bob was pre-deceased by his stepfather, Mike Dickson.

 Visitation on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 9:30-11 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, with a prayer service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford.
