Obituary

Robert "Bob" Marshall, age 84, of Orange, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Bob was born May 17th, 1931 in Bridgeport where he met his wife Joan (Sabados) Marshall. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and continued to remain close with the friends he made during his service. He spent most of his life in Fairfield married to the love of his life, Joan. They celebrated their 60th Anniversary on May 28th of this year. Bob enjoyed spending time listening to country western music, going out to lunch with his family, sipping on red wine and drinking Smithwich's. Horseshoes were his game of choice, and he was an excellent water-skier in his younger days. He traveled by car with his wife to all but four states, his favorite location being Nashville, TN where he was able to celebrate his 80th birthday. Bob also enjoyed talking about the birds on the telegraph pole and always let his friends and family know if he thought they deserved a prize for doing something great. Bob was the ultimate practical joker, something he learned from watching his favorite Stooge, Curly, and absolutely never backed down from a challenge. Bob was especially helpful in the kitchen cutting vegetables into perfect cubes for his wife to make delicious meals with. He was more stubborn than a mule and never asked for help but that didn't stop him from truly loving his family. Bob leaves behind his beloved wife Joan of Orange; his only daughter Deborah Weh of Stratford, CT, his three grandchildren: Heather Weh (Stink) of Dallas, TX, Eric Weh (Numbnuts) and his wife Katie of Wauwatosa, WI, and Leah Weh (Lulu) of Stratford, his brother Howie Marshall and wife Joanne, a nephew and two nieces. There will be no calling hours and services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the USO: www.uso.org/donate or to the Wounded Warrior Project: www.woundedwarriorproject.org/Donate
