Robert Joseph Lewandowski, age 80, of Stratford, the beloved husband of the late Eileen Markham Lewandowski, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018, in Bridgeport Hospital, surrounded by his three loving daughters. Born in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Harry and Regina (Rembarz) Lewandowski, he resided in Hager Hill, Kentucky for 25 years, before relocating to Stratford, Connecticut three years ago to be closer to family. Survivors include his daughters, Judith Ann Jamison and her husband Scott of Spokane, WA, Mary Waghorne and her husband Bob of Fairfield, CT and Carol D. Cournoyer and husband Marc of Norwich, CT, his grandchildren, Taylor and Lauren Jamison, Max, Charlie and Will Waghorne, Tessa and Molly Cournoyer, brother-in-law Thomas Markham, and his wife Sophie Radlowski of Chicago, IL and Gerald Markham and his wife Kay of Bloomingdale, IL, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Jerome Lewandowski, sister-in-law, Marlene Lewandowski, a sister Roberta Jaje and brother-in-law, Stanley Jaje.

Bob had an amazing ability to develop a unique relationship with each of us. He was truly able to identify a special quality or interest in each daughter, son-in-law, grandchild, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, nephew and friend, and tailor a special relationship that made each of us feel how important we were to him. We were all his number ones. Our dad was devoted to our mom for over 54 years. He always tried to put her first and especially in the last several years he took good care of her. As we all know, she was always his true "number one."

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Smilow Cancer Center, Park Avenue Medical Center (PAMC), Trumbull, especially Dr. Justin Persico and Donna and Amberlie, for their care and support. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at 9:30 AM in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford and at 10:00 AM in St Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Tuesday from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the funeral home or on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the home of Mary Waghorne.
