Robert "Bob" Charney, 83, passed away on December 10, 2024 after a long illness in Dunedin, FL. Born in Bridgeport, CT on July 14, 1941, Bob was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Francis Charney and a sister, Fran Charney. Bob Grew up in Bridgeport attending Harding High School Class of 1960, where he excelled at football earning a scholarship to Tampa University before transferring to the University of Bridgeport,  where he played quarterback while earning a Master's Degree in teaching.  Bob spent part of his career coaching and teaching at Ithaca College before leaving teaching to go into medical sales. He retired to Florida, where he enjoyed playing golf, while maintaining lifelong friendships in Florida and New England. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11:30 am at St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. The Adzima Funeral Home has been entrusted with the local arrangements.
