Robert D. Hoyt, age 70, of Little River, SC, formerly of Stratford, the beloved husband of Patricia Callahan Hoyt, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 in Sea Coast Hospital. Born in Bridgeport to the late Edward and Margaret (Lorensen) Hoyt, he was a retired Installer and repairman for SNET with over 25 years of service. Bob was a 1965 graduate of Bassick High School and attended Sacred Heart University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving on the destroyer the USS DuPont during battles against the Viet Cong. He was a member of the VFW Post 108040 and the American Legion Post 186 in Little River, SC. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 48 years, Patricia include his son, Robert Hoyt and his wife Nicole of Bloomington, IN, a granddaughter, Violet, a brother, Edward Hoyt of Shelton, a sister, Margaret Capozziello of Fairfield and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was pre-deceased by his daughter, Laura Ann Hoyt. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet his family from 9:00 – 11:00 am on Wednesday.
