Obituary

Robert Herman age 63 of Stratford passed away on Tuesday April 7, 2009 in Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his family and friends after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Bob, a proud U.S. Navy Veteran was born in Stamford to the late Julius and Helen (Nachajski) Herman, grew up in Norwalk and has been a long time area resident. He attended Central Catholic High School in Norwalk before joining the Navy. He retired after twenty-eight years of service from SNET and in recent years had been painting for Rick Norell Painting Company. Bob was an avid Yankee fan and loved to talk to anyone about his favorite team. He is survived by his devoted wife Barbara Kaminski Herman who never left his side during this difficult struggle and their loving daughter Kristina Herman of Stratford, and his 2 caring sons Brian Herman and his wife Randi of Stratford, Gregory Herman of Norwalk. Four cherished grandchildren Alexandra, Celia, Gregory Jr, and Anthony, 2 brothers James Herman and his wife Linda of Naugatuck and Thomas Herman and his wife Deborah of Florida, a niece and several nephews, and many lifelong friends who will forever miss him. His family would like to thank Dr. Robert Folman and his staff, the doctors and nurses of the 7th and 9th Floors at Bridgeport Hospital for their kind and loving care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 14th at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church 2070 Main St Stratford. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
