Robert J. Gabris, age 80, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Marsha Doerner Gabris, passed away on October 18, 2023. Robert was born in Bridgeport on March 3, 1943, to the late Anthony and Sophie (Yuckienuz) Gabris and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Bassick High School and was a proud Viet Nam era U.S. Army veteran. Bob was a master plumber and proprietor of his own business for over 40 years.  He excelled at marksmanship and was a lifetime member of the Bridgeport Rifle Club.  His back door was always open, and you could always expect a fresh pot of coffee.  His generosity, wit and tenacity will be sorely missed.  Survivors include his devoted daughters, Michelle Huydic and her husband Chris of Burlington, and Meredith Sabia and her husband Mike of Tennessee, 5 cherished grandchildren, Connor, Ryan, Emily, Finn, and Mallory, sister-in-law, Carol Gabris, and 3 nephews. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Bob was pre-deceased by his brother, Richard.

Friends may greet his family on Monday, October 23rd from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, CT. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford, CT. Interment will be private.
