Obituary

Robert D. Hoyt, age 86 of Stratford beloved husband of Gloria Izzo Hoyt, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Born in Orange New Jersey to the late Milton and Loretta (Kaden) Hoyt, he has been a long time area resident. Robert was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. serving during WWII. He was a retired letter Carrier for the US Postal Service and was a member of the Raymond T. Goldbach VFW Post 9460 Stratford, the Our Lady Grace Cabaret Players and Choir, and the choir in Largo, Florida. He was a former member of the Coastal Chords men. His first wife Dorothy Pjura predeceased him. Survivors include his beloved wife Gloria Izzo Hoyt, a daughter Janet Guglielmi and her husband Jack of Milford, a granddaughter Jennifer Guglielmi and her husband Daryl Straw; 2 stepchildren Cynthia Ann Kleist and her husband Derf of Cheshire and Paul M. Izzo and his wife Linda of Shelton; his step grandchildren Amy Izzo, Gordon, Ross, Cindy and Bryan Kleist, and a great-grandson Carter. He is also survived by 2 sisters Joyce Perry and Carol Hobson and her husband Mel all of Trumbull. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 9:15 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Grace 407 Second Hill Lane Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7pm.
