Robert Chavoya, age 83, of Stratford, beloved husband of Angelica Babij Chavoya, passed away peacefully on January 28,2025.

Bob was born on August 10, 1941, in Arlington, Texas to the late Ernest and Josephine (Guedea) Chavoya and had been a longtime area resident. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and was retired from Sikorsky Aircraft.

Survivors, in addition to his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, include his devoted daughters, Stephanie LaPointe and her husband Peter of Stamford, and Kristen Reilly and her husband Paul of Stratford, 4 cherished grandchildren, Margaret Naamani and her husband Mohamad, Robert Reilly, Susannah and Gabrielle LaPointe, great-granddaughter, Layla, brother, Dennis Chavoya and his wife Debbie, sisters, Juanita Nanez and her husband Joseph, and Diana Uliasz and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister, Mary Louise Appel, and by his brother-in-law, Thomas Uliasz.

Bob was an enormous gift to his family and friends. Warm, funny and a great conversationalist, Bob had the unique ability to instantly befriend anyone he met, no matter their background or station in life.  Bob's superpower was storytelling; family and friends would sit in rapt attention as he recounted stories of his childhood in Texas, or his travels, or his adventures with lifelong friends Rex, Stacey and Gerald. He will be missed, but his family knows that we will see him again in Heaven.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment with full military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.

The Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
