Robert E. (Biff) Tyrrel, age 69, of Stratford, beloved husband of Barbara Bacik Tyrrel, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 in St. Vincent's MC, Bridgeport. Biff, a proprietor of On Track Karting, was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Robert E. and Juanita (Menendez) Tyrrel. In addition to his wife, Biff is survived by his four devoted children, David Tyrrel and his wife Michele of Lake Ronkonkoma NY, Martin Tyrrel and his wife Deborah of Cheshire CT, Christopher Tyrrel and his wife Pamela of Cheshire CT, and Kathryn O'Connor and her husband Patrick of Mount Kisco NY, his eight cherished grandchildren, Steven, Christina, Rachael, Jeffrey, Samantha, Caitlin, Logan, and Colin, as well as his two brothers Leigh Tyrrel and his wife Kathy of Floral Park NY, and Duncan Tyrrel and his wife Valerie of Rochester NY, and his four nephews. Biff raised his family in Huntington NY and spent much of his career at BH Tyrrel where he faithfully served the family business as a financial printer. After retiring, he helped start and took great pride in a new family business, On Track Karting, a high-performance go-karting operation. Biff greatly enjoyed his children and grandchildren, whether tending his backyard turtle ponds or snowmobiling at his vacation home in Maine. He was also an avid sailor, a passion he passed on to his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 1st at 10 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Church 220 Shelton Road Trumbull, CT, celebrated by Rev. James J. Bacik. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 PM in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, CT.
