Rita Marie Sherman, age 85 of Stratford, died on Saturday, April 14, 2007 in her home. Born on Prince Edward Island Canada to the Late John C. and Alma Gallant Arsenault, she has resided in Stratford for the last 58 years and prior to that in Bridgeport. Rita was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Paul T. Sherman and was a retired inspector and ammunition packer for Remington Arms in Bridgeport. She was a member of the Remington Arms Retirees Association and the Germanian Shwaben Seniors and Ladies Auxiliary groups. Survivors include a son Joseph Sherman and his wife Joyce of Shelton; 2 daughters Paula Catalano and her husband Ronald of Monroe and Patricia Fejes and her husband Steve of Stratford; 5 grandchildren Dana Boucher and her husband Todd, Ryan Sherman and his wife Bethany, Todd Sherman, Mark Catalano and his wife Heather and Kevin Catalano and his wife Melissa; 8 great-grandchildren: Celine, Elyse, Alex, Annelyse, Sarah, Jack, Emma and Edyn; a sister Marie Martone of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday April 18, 2007, at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at Holy Name of Jesus Church Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 pm in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
