Obituary

Rita M. Hampp beloved wife of the late William T. Hampp, formerly of Meriden, passed away on August 18, at her home in Milford, CT.

She was born in Westfield, MA on July 8, 1945, the daughter of Edward J. and Margaret (Murphy) Sullivan. Her sense of volunteerism, notably running the concession stand as part of Jack Barry Little League, was inspiring to those who knew her. She made many friends among parents, coaches, and volunteers. She had a lifelong passion for sports and kept up with the lives and careers of many of the "kids who played baseball on Britannia Street."

She is predeceased by her husband Bill and is survived by her son William (Toby) Hampp and his wife Alissa Dragan, of Milford. Rita leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and is predeceased by her brother Thomas Sullivan, sisters-in-law Mary (Shatas), Rosemary (DeFilippo), Margaret "Peggy" (Novicelli) Hampp, and brother-in-law Thomas Hampp.

Rita loved to putter in her garden and rooted for the underdog. There was not a holiday for which she did not have ample and appropriate décor—her Halloween displays were featured in the Record-Journal. Rita will be missed for her infectious laughter and for her tenacious resolve. Arrangements will be held privately Her family would like to express that Rita carried much pride for having been a part of the Meriden and Wallingford communities. She was most proud of her time volunteering at Jack Barry Little League, and in lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations to be made to support youth sports organizations in your community.

The Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
