Richard N. Roberts, "Poppy" age 86, beloved husband and friend of Carol Powe Roberts, died Friday September 20th, 2024, peacefully at his home in Stratford.

Dick was born in Bridgeport CT. and spent most of his life as a resident of Stratford. He served in the U.S. Navy onboard the USS Truckee based in Norfolk VA. He retired from SNET, Bridgeport CT. after a career of 34 years. He enjoyed golfing and passed the love of the game to his grandchildren. He also enjoyed shooting with his buddies at the Bridgeport Riffle Club and kept in touch with many of them over the years.

He is survived by his wife Carol and his three children, Richard K. Roberts, Karen (Greg) Thomas, Mooney (Frank) Chop, all of Stratford, his seven grandchildren, Matthew (Meike) Chop, Gregory Thomas Jr., Justin (Marissa) Thomas, Zachary (Jill) Thomas, Lauren Thomas, Bubba (Mikayla) Thomas, and Molly Roberts, three great-grandchildren, Camryn, Addison and Skylar, a brother William Roberts of Myrtle Beach SC. and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 4th at 11:00 am meeting directly at Saint James Church, 2070 Main Street Stratford. Military honors immediately following.
