Richard S. Millward Sr., age 88, of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Isabel "Cuddle" Millward, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025. Richard was born on July 10, 1937, to the late William and Margaret (Horner) Millward- the fifth of 10 children. Dick was a graduate of Lewisburg PA High School and earned his BS from Bucknell University. After living in various places all over the country, Dick and his family settled in Stratford, where he lived for 38 years. In 1999, Dick and Cuddle retired and spent 25 wonderful years in Seneca, SC.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Dick was pre-deceased by his son, Peter and by 3 siblings- Joan, Bill and Bob. Survivors include his devoted sons, Richard S. Millward Jr. of Illinois and James R. Millward and his wife Maureen of Stratford; 3 cherished grandchildren, Nicole (Brian) McManus, Trevor (Meghan) Millward, and Brian Valeriano; great- granddaughter, Hallie McManus; 6 siblings – Jolaine, Donna, Carl, Jane, Daphne and Debbie; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Crosby Commons in Shelton who were wonderful friends, companions and caregivers in the year he spent there.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 20th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, followed by a light luncheon from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, all at the Putney Chapel, 5936 Main Street Putney, Stratford, CT. All other services are private and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
